basically i take pictures for me, to tell a story, to have memories of the people i was with and the things i was doing. i would not say i am particularly good at it but i love when they turn out well and i love to practice as much as i can. so i take lots of pictures of everything and anything to get practice. i'm always looking for comments and advice to know what i am doing well and how i can improve.

unfortunately, i am the victim of having had a terrible camera. i was using the Polaroid 5.1 mega pixel PDC 5080. it is my first digital camera and was gifted to me when i had been rubber banding my film camera together after dropping it several times. (i used it very hard and it was a great camera.) this camera did not take very good pictures indoors as the flash is too bright and many settings make the color terribly off. outdoors it tended to be better but sometimes greenish. night time pictures outdoors were just out of the question even with flash. i tried adjusting all of the settings, exposure, iso, everything there is to adjust on it for all of these different opportunities but had little luck. this camera tragically went missing after i totaled my vw. possibly stolen by the tow driver or police officer, shady, sad. i was never more appreciative of that silly camera than when i had none.

but it forced me to buy the camera i had been wanting to upgrade to for some time. since may 2009 i have been using my new canon powershot sd790 is. it is a great camera and came highly recommended by miahz. i am still figuring it out but we will soon see if my photos are more affected by the camera or the operator.
