I grew up drawing on the walls. My Dad had to repaint the entire interior of our house before they could put it on the market and sell it. When I got in trouble for drawing on the walls, I rolled underneath coffee tables and drew on the undersides of the table tops. When I got in trouble for that I hid in closets and drew on the backs of the sliding doors. I never got caught with that. ;)

After winning a state wide art contest in the 3rd grade my parents signed me up for my first art class at the local Y. I started sketching and drawing, moved onto oil painting in the 4th grade, and from there went on to sketching and watercolors from 6th - 12th grade.

I've always been fascinated with photography. I love going through my family's albums to catch a glimpse of who Mom and Dad were before they were "Mom and Dad." I still, to this day break out the family albums to go through them all every time I go home. My grandmother asked once why I go through the albums since there's nothing new to look at. But that's the point. I want to see that past through someone else's eyes. There are moments captured of my twin brother and myself in Korea that I can scarcely recall, I was so young. But the fleeting memories are still there. The tick-tocking grandfather clock in the hall, sleeping on mats on the wood floors, and eating Frosted Flakes for breakfast.

I wanted to major in Photography, but my parents felt strongly about me majoring in the Arts. Our compromise was a major in Graphic Design and so I hold a B.A. in Design. My background in Fine Art and my BA in Design helps me so much in the field of photography. I'm finally doing what I love.

I feel like my life is just beginning and the feeling is grand.

I couldn't have done this without the love and support from my dear husband. His faith in me and my work has been unparalleled and for that I am truly blessed. Thank you, hun. I love you.
