ABOUT ME
Just the one artistname, since this is mostly about fractal art (no photos here), which comes as much from mathmatics as it comes from me, i find a personal identity misplaced.

Mathematics and numbers are my paintbrush and palette, i would describe my work as Abstract Art or Modern Art even though it is digital art made with fractals. It will probably be a while before people can accept the new union between computers and art. Even though a lot of digital art already exists, i think most of it is still inferior and just cultural design still enroute to becoming art.

ABOUT THE WORK
Most of these images were created using various fractal software form the early/mid 1990s up to the present. I Recently (06-2009) started making some more fractals again and started to make my old images available.

I like to play around with different fractal software and sometimes use various effects on fractals to try out new things, but i mostly prefer true fractals without effects.

The images can take from many minutes up to many hours to calculate per single image, even on very fast computers.

Most images were rendered in much higher quality (4096 x 3072 pixels or 7800 x 5200 pixels) and they can be rendered up to very high resolutions, much larger than any photocamera can do. Checkout the photoset of mine called "Red Lobster Spectrum" to see some nice examples of how many details can be found in the images at higher resolutions of when zoomed in.

Many of the images with lots of details become more impressive at higher resolutions and when displayed larger on projections or printed on posterformat. Especially the true fractals, without any heavy effects, become more beautiful, as more of the repeating details become apparent.
