Escultor miniaturista desde os treze anos de idade, filho de mãe escultora, neto e bisneto de escultores Santiago Calonga tem exposto seu trabalho em diversas regiões da Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Espanha e Portugal. Já a oito anos no Brasil tem pesquisado o artesanato tradicional nordestino e o barroco mineiro. Fortemente influenciado pelos trabalhos de, Mestre Vitalino (caruaru-PE), Guto Lacaz (SP) e Peter Callesen (Dinamarca), Santiago vem desenvolvendo pequenas peças misturando o sacro, o lúdico, e o contemporâneo criando assim um trabalho autoral enraizado no artesanato e com o olhar voltado para o design e as artes plásticas.
