Equipo
Pentacon 29mm/2.8, Helios-44M 58mm/2, Industar 61 L/Z 50mm/2.8, Super-Takumar 135mm/3.5 y Super-Takumar 55mm/2.
About me
I am interested in the artistic expression on the whole, especially painting, music, cinema... I enjoy walking along the shore and the country, writing haiku and shooting... with a camera, of course!
My pictures are of architecture, clouds, flora, landscapes, leaves, still life, trees... I take them both in black and white and color.
At first, I paid no attention to digital photography, until I found out first-hand her amazing creative potential.
For the time being, although I have a digital camera (Panasonic Lumix FZ8), I prefer analogue rather than digital captures. I love the genuine grain and the powerful evocation of the vintage look. Oh, beautiful imperfection of the visual memory...!
However, as many other photographers do, I combine these two processes in my work:
I shoot mainly film (negatives and slides) and I develop the rolls in a reliable lab (where I also print on photo paper).
I scan the film in a Canoscan 4200F with VueScan and edit my pictures with Photoshop. Sometimes, I use Photomatix too.
Gear
When I was a boy, I used to take pictures with a Kodak Instamatic 133. A few years later, I borrowed a Canonet 28 (what a jump!) from my brother-in-law and I started to develop black and white rolls and prints by myself in a modest improvised darkroom... at the toilet!
My first reflex was a faded but efficient secondhand Yashica TL Electro X. I bought it from a workmate with a Tokina 28mm/2.8, a Yashinon-DS 50mm/1.4 and a Formula 5 Gold Crown 75-205mm/3.5. My photo vision had been expanded quite a lot.
Six months before the fall of the Berlin wall, I purchased a brand-new Praktica MTL5B with the standard Tessar 50mm/2.8.
This is the camera I use regularly and it works without a flaw so far.
I have a Samsung Slim 145S too: it is an automatic, compact and versatile rangefinder. Lately I added to my gear two more cameras: the soviet rangefinder FED-2 with Industar-61 L/D 53mm/2.8 and the DDR Praktica Nova PL1.
Other lenses
Pentacon 29mm/2.8, Helios-44M 58mm/2, Industar 61 L/Z 50mm/2.8, Super-Takumar 135mm/3.5, Super-Takumar 55mm/2.
I hope that you’ll enjoy my gallery. Thanks in advance for your ocasional comments and testimonies.
