I've never had a day of photographic training in my life, although I did work for a professional for more than five years. This has given me the freedom to follow my own interests and develop my own style. Call it urban landscape candid portraiture. From Street Level Elevation. With a healthy dose of surrealism. I'm interested in illustrating the ways that narratives shape people's perceptions of a place. My current project is a survey of Gary, Indiana.

More than a few people have framed the act of taking a photograph as an act of violence (of the metaphorical sort). If so then I hope my photographs do great harm to the forces of hate and prejudice that nearly decimated our urban communities. And I hope they do equal harm to the forces of greed that seek to disrupt the vital urban fabric that for too long has gone unnoticed by the mainsteam.
