Hello fellow fotogs! Thanks for dropping by….

I got into photography a few years ago after a random shot of a sunset over Stockholm turned out surprising well! .... No, the Stockholm bit’s not really relevant but I’m trying to sound worldly and well-travelled here, ok?!! ;-) .... I thought then that I might have a bit of an eye for photography so I’ve been studying it since then.

I still have much to learn. I spend a lot of time reading and researching in an effort to improve my understanding and technique so in the meantime I’m relying on a flair for composition (ooh, is that a bit egotistical?!), a feel for creativity (oh well, in for a penny….) and a couple of fab cameras!

I’m not too much into the whole photoshoppery thing (High Street shoppery is, of course, to be encouraged...) It just seems too easy to cheat the finished result... but maybe I'm not a fan because I haven’t found the time to study my PS manual yet so anything beyond cropping and contrast is all a bit Greek to me. Dodge and Burn? Sounds like a basketball manoeuvre or a variety act!

As Wild Bill Hickok (probably) once said ‘I like to shoot anything that doesn’t move’: architecture, portraits, still life…… I would like this year to take time to develop a more documentary style, shooting situations on the hoof - those one-off moments when I can never seem to set my camera up quickly enough before the moment has gone. (I saw a rare, lesser spotted rock star on the street recently but they’d disappeared before I’d even figured out the focus... A pop-tastic moment gone in the blink of an i-pod!!)

I'd be honoured if you paid a visit.

When I’m not out and about avec camera I try to get exposure of a different kind. No, I’m not a flasher - I’m currently pursuing a career in television presenting. I love photography but I’d like to spend some more time on the other side of the camera too....

I really enjoy Flickr-ing and checking out everyone’s photo streams. It’s quite inspirational. Thanks for taking the time to stop here - please feel free to add me to your contacts and I’ll come and visit you too!
