Sam Adams was born in Chicago and has been working as a spoken word artist and photographer for the past 8 years. He has a BA in Photography from Columbia College (‘08) and is represented by Avram Eisen Gallery (5204 N. Damen). His main focus as a photographer over the past two years has been an extensive project documenting Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood as well as a series of still lifes comprised of vibrant canvases and decaying natural matter. His work was recently featured on the cover of the Chicago Reader’s annual year-end photo issue as well as in WBEZ’s Winter Block Party Celebrating the Hip Hop Arts at Victory Gardens (1/25/09). He has also been featured in such shows as “Extra-Dimensionality” at Avram Eisen Gallery and “Remnants of Splendor” at Adams Fine Art. His work is currently being exhibited at Columbia College’s Manifest show (1006 Michigan Ave.)
