From the middle of the world (Quito - Ecuador), DJ COCO brings the hottest music in the world "La Salsa".

After more than 10 years in the business, Omar Carrera has earned worldwide recognition, he has successfully paved his way as a DJ/Producer/Manager, playing a significant role in introducing Salsa Music in Ecuador and the USA.

He grew up with Salsa since he was very young. He always had an exceptional musical background in?his life with the voices of Hector "the Voice" Lavoe, Sonora Ponceña , Willie Colon, Ruben Blades, Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Henry Fiol, Larry Harlow and the great Cuban musicians like Cachao, Ibrahim Ferrer and Papaito among others. For him they are the greatest inspirations to follow. They created the Rhythm of Life.

"I had the opportunity to meet the most exceptional woman in the world, Erin. Together we created the best Salsa Night Club in my city El Choque Salsa Bar. There, I got to know a lot more about the essence of La Salsa, and I became an integral part of the Salsa Community in Ecuador. They have always supported us in our salsero dream." He has been a salsa DJ since 1996 In Ecuador.

He?had the opportunity to be in the scene with great orchestras such as Grupo Niche, Grupo Gale, Joe Arroyo, Henry Fiol, Cheo Feliciano, Willie Colon, Los Van Van?and the best local orchestras.

"My family decided to move to the San Francisco Bay Area in November 2002 and of course I brought with me all of my passion for La Salsa and the rhythm that runs in my blood to contribute to the growth of this genre in the United States."

He is a natural Salsa DJ and ,he likes to listen to and to feel the music. For him the important piece in La Salsa is the improvisation of the musicians, the improvisation of the movements when people are dancing. For him La Salsa is a rhythm without rules but with the same passion where the bodies are taken magically by the same effect, an effect where all seem to be very joyful.
