I am an artist/printmaker. Trees and forests are a major focus of my work. I marvel at the beauty and ubiquity of the natural world against a world in turmoil, technologically developing at an incredible speed and challenged by cultural clashes and instability.

Worldwide, trees are a primary target for destruction to make way for development, mining, and fuel. Diminishing forests endanger thousands of species of birds, animals and plants. To most, forests are remote and of little consequence to daily life. Fewer and fewer people know what it is like to stand in the midst of an old forest; to hear the rustle of leaves in the wind high up in the canopy; to see sunlight filtered through the intricate network of leaves and branches; and to feel a stillness only found deep in the woods. In my work I attempt to convey the essence of woodland life and to show how, if anything can be naturally sacred, it is a forest.
