I live in Athens, I have an apartment in Melissia but I mainly stay in my house in Sounion, which is in front of the sea facing the famous temple of Poseidon. I spent most of my time there for I love the sea and swimming, even in the winter, but also the hillsides nearby are beautiful in the winter for long walks and jogging.
I am an engineer and I had a Hotel business in the past, but I sold my business a few years back, and now I am working as a writer translating spiritual books into Greek and writing my own books on spirituality and philosophy in Ancient Greece, mainly on the theme of “Know thy self”, “γνωθι σαυτον». I take the old Greek myths and unveil their spirituality and wisdom which is hidden in them. So I love everything which has culture, truth and beauty. Plato used to teach and emphasize that the most important thing that men have to observe and practice in their life is “truth, goodness and beauty”.
Ancient Greece and ancient India have many cultural things in common and are very much alike in many respects.
Thank you all.

I am a lover of Truth. Truth is the mother of all religions and of all things. From Truth came our soul and in Truth it will return. So Truth is our Mother too!
Truth is reached by knowing thyself. Whoever realizes his true self becomes immortal and blissful! He gains victory over death and ignorance. He reaches the sublime state of the immortal timeless Seer! In that state he never confuses the Seer with the seen, the Observer with the observed, the Knower with the known. As a consequence he stops identifying himself with his body brain complex and also from his other subtle garments like his mind, his thoughts, his intelligence, his desires, his logic capacity, his memory, his subconscious, his ego, his personality, his individuality, etc…. He identifies himself only with the immortal divine Light which is “Existence, Consciousness, Bliss”. He reaches that holy peak where Heraclitus, Parmenides, Thales, Socrates, Buddha, Rumi, Mahavira and many others reached, from where the sight “All is One” exists.

""1 picture taken by Alexandros it is equal to 1000000 words.
Just 1000 doesn't sound to me enough"

I came to the conclusion that so many of his photos are simply so stunning that it would be impossible to write appraisal for each one - so in stead I decided to write here and let everyone know that viewing Alexandro's sets and collections on Flickr it is something more than viewing a slideshow of photographs....

    ...IT IS A LIVE EXPERIENCE!

Alexandros is a very talented photographer and through his photographs can make anyone feel that is a part of the displayed environment.

If any of my foreign friends ever would like to visit Greece , I would highly suggest them to go through Alexandros' Flickr photographs one-by-one on Fullscreen mode!

As a Greek, I can assure you that through his pictures, I got to known my country more and explored places that didn't know that are so beautiful and now the only thing I hope is that one day I can visit all these amazing places!

Thank you Alexandros for all your time and money you have spent taking photographs all over Greece.
It is a priceless contribution that all of us can benefit from. I wish one day every Greek will love his/her country as much as you do.

    Many thanks,
    Photogon"
