To look at the heavens is to peer back in time. The image we see has traversed the vast expanse of space to get here. What is it like there now? I think of photographs the same way.

When a picture is taken, the object and its image cease to co-exist. The subject moves on, but the image remains. A solitary moment, not captured but remembered. We cannot return, save for in dreams.

I am a student of history.
I am a student of time.
I am a student of creation.
