Amateurs assume professional images come from professional aka expensive kit. What a load of rubbish!

Sure... you get a load of professionals at football matches with white lenses. That's because the rag they work for provides the lenses. Very often they're hired for the job.

A professional manages with whatever kit he has on him when he's on the job. The camera/lenses/flash are secondary considerations.

Professionalism is about making the best with what you have and not throwing money at a problem. Many amateurs believe you can only take "professional" images with expensive kit. What rubbish! At f8 pretty much all current lenses are equally sharp.
