31-yr old Finnish guy, working in the outsourcing business, previously in the luxury sailing yacht business. I've been into photographing for as long as I remember. In my younger years it was pure "shoot-and-go" tactics, until I purchased a Sony Cybershot DSC-P100 in 2004. That camera worked out extremely well, I was positively surprised about the quality of the shots, some of which can also be seen here. But still I wasn't ready for the fancy stuff, playing around with it but still always shooting with the full-automatic setting.

Then one weekend in August 2005 I got my hands on a Canon 30D at a bachelor party of a very good friend of mine. If you can name a moment that really opened your eyes, this was it for me. The pics from the bachelor party turned out really really nice even if I had no clue yet about shutter speeds, ISO's, DOF etc! After that weekend I decided to buy myself my own equipment and started a program to get some savings for the eventual purchase.

I bought my current camera in August 2006 with the help of my lovely wife, who organised a summer party (actually my birthday party) at our house where all the guests participated in fulfilling my dream by giving small donations, an operation which I was completely unaware of!! Useless to say, having waited and planned for almost a year, the following Thursday after the birthday party I bought the camera! :)

I'm shoooting with Canon 350D (complemented with BG-E3 battery grip), with Canon 17-85 f/4-5,6 IS and Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS lenses (the latter one being a really fantastic piece of equipment!!!). Canon Speedlite 430EX external flash and Slik tripod when needed. Using the basics in Photoshop CS2, one day when I find more time I'll start learning more about "shopping 'til they drop" (comment stolen from Stezzer, nice line buddy!). Next one in line for me on the equipment side will be a macro lens, been thinking of Canon MP-E 65, any recommendations / opinions?? I guess with the macro lens I'm forced to invest also on a macro flash... Later on I would love to have a fish-eye lens also, but that's waaaay in the future...:)

Other interests include sailing and all kinds of sports. I've managed to get myself on the orthopedist's operating table already 4 times because I kept on breaking my shoulders in off-piste skiing when I was younger (maybe that's an indication of my skiing skills, ha ha ha!!), so I've had to calm down a bit in the last 5 yrs. Talking about interests, as you may have seen in my photostream, my daughter is the best thing that ever happened to me (besides meeting my wife, which enabled the daughter to born...) and I'm happy to dedicate 95% of my spare time to her, playing with her and watching her become a big girl! I'm gonna need a "pea shooter" once she gets in her teens, to keep a control of all the suitors!! ;)

Then what about the remaining 5%, you may ask? Well, then I try to sneak out to do some shooting and avoid washing the dishes...:)
