About Myself

Bulleya, who am I?
I am no believer in a mosque
And I have no pagan ways
I am not pure. I am not vile
I’m no Moses and I’m no Pharoah
Bulleya, who am I?

First and last, I see the self
I recognize no second to it
No one is more knowing than me
But, Bulleh, who is it that I am?
Bulleya, who am I?

Water nor dust are neither what makes me
I am not flame. I am not wind
I am not pure. I am not vile
I’m no Moses and I’m no Pharoah
Bulleya, who am I?
Bulleya, who am I?

(Extracted from a Poem by Sufi Bulleh Shah)

Prelude

I believe that perspective is the asset of a photographer. You have to differentiate among seeing, viewing and observing things. Thereafter comes the difficult part- envisaging. I am trying to differentiate among them with abstract and materialistic shots.

Trying to establish Philosophical Photography

Influence

The psychedelic music of Pink Floyd is the influence of me. The anguish and the accentuation of pain in their music is my sprout for photography.

Inspiration

1. Nasrullah Khaled ( www.flickr.com/photos/74726060@N00/ ). My brother-in-law. An excellent photographer from whom I learned perspective, difference between shooting, photography, and artwork and most of all an asset of a photographer- being laconic.

2. Quazi Mah-Zereen Akter ( www.flickr.com/photos/zereen ). A beloved friend of mine who started as a fan of my photograph and ended up as a critique. She is my wonderwall and my wife.

Photo Editing

I only play with brightness, clarity, midtone, shadow, highlight and contrast. Many have said that I do extensive post processing recently but the fact is I only change these 6 things with Paintshop Pro XI not more than that as I do not like digital art.

Two Stick-note Reminders

Please do not call me a photographer. I am still learning and will learn in the end of the day. If you have to, then you can call me just an amateur.

My photographs are my creations. I shared them to find out a way to develop my photographic sense not to be used in unauthorized way. If you have to use my photographs, then please let me know.

    There's a hunger still unsatisfied

    story.teller says:

"Rushdi is undoubtedly one of my favorite photographer artist in flickr. I've screened most of his shots once I found him here and was I glad, because there is hardly one out of them that I did not like.

The Romantic poet, Percy Bysshy Shelley once said, "Our sweetest songs are those that tell of saddest thought." What captivates me most about his images is that it never fails to evoke a certain emotion. There is such pathos in his compositions that one immediately gets drawn to it, because his subjects matters and treatment of it bespeaks a certain intimacy between them and the photographer. This in turn engages the viewer in a way that leaves a profound effect.

Hope you continue to create such beautiful work and once again we will get to see the color of happiness smeared in them! =)"
