Novice photographer, I've always had interest in photography, but never made the leap to get a camera that suited me. After dealing with a Kodak 710 for awhile, I decided it was time for me to get a real DSLR in January of 09. Now I am learning the technical aspects of photography for real, and loving it. I've been finding, however, the "eye" to be the aspect of photography that's slower for me to catch on to. I can feel like there's a shot sometimes, but can't quite compose it in a way that makes it feel right to me. I'm always open to criticism and tips, or whatever you might have to say, I love learning about anything. I don't frequently use any editing software, as that is one of my personal frontiers I am exploring. Most of my shots will be pretty much as they came out of the camera. I've installed PS CS4, but don't get as much use out of it as I had hoped. I try to have my camera with me mostly all the time, and that seems to have paid off with lots of opportunities. I'm hoping in the distant future to get some crazy camera with high ISO like a d3 or something, because I have a preference for shooting available light, but that's off in the who-knows-when distance. I used to really lean towards shooting mostly landscapes and the like, but I've been finding it most gratifying to shoot candid people photos, action shots, and more specific subjects as well. I recently (June, '09) purchased a flash and a remote, and my first prime lens, a 35mm (September, '10) and they've been helping me build on my photography as well.
