Thanks for viewing my photos and visiting my profile! I hope you find something that makes you smile and think about life in a positive way!
ps... my contacts list is out of control, and I can't keep connected the way I like when there's too many... so don't take it personally if I don't add you as a contact right away after you've added me... ; )

I notice after doing an end-of-year examination of my photostream that I am, uh... basically all over the place! I love taking nature photos, rocks, snow, flowers, water, sky trees... landscapes... close-ups of leaves.......
But I am also passionate about animals, domestic as well as wild, so you will see kitty cats, hawks, birds at my feeding station, birds in the wild, birds on the line, otters, fox, horses, snakes, bugs, deer as well as animal tracks in snow, sand, water and sky...
No scat, though. Although that is interesting to me too.
I also am an artist at heart, and am really enjoying using the editing tools available in picnik premium to create pieces that are empressionistic and mystical, so I can express beauty in what turns out to be a kind of magical way. Or just wierd. I like wierd. And dark, but not too dark. Dark like things that remain hidden and yet hold life, too. Wings, hearts and fire... whatever comes up.
I also have been working with some family photos, reunion shots, ect. There may be a self portrait involved. Or just an eyeball.

I also love poetry, and have found myself attaching poems to photos, in an attempt to further pull the viewer into my web of love and inspiration...
there may be a song attached, which you can choose to listen to or not. I recommend listening because your heart may be lifted, and that's good for you!

I see many people at flickr are more specialists... really good in particular styles. I am inspired by them, and yet do not attempt to meet thier standards.... I am sort of good at a
variety of styles, and hopefully am improving! I am very visual, and hope I can share with you, kind visitor, some of the beauty I see in this world!

So, while my style is all over the place, my heart is in the right place, and I am enjoying myself, and LOVE viewing your work and hearing your comments of mine! What a great way to embrace the world!!!

Another thing you may or may not want to know... I have made some really close friends here at Flickr. I am so grateful for them! Todd, Jenn, Ran, Moana, my cousin Lani... Walden, Katzarella.... I could go on... but the important thing is that this is a place we can care for each other and encourage and support our journeys! I have been transformed through some of my relationships here! Absolutely.

You Were a Crow

Eternally wise, you have a deep understand of ethics.
You guide people from the darkness to the light.

What Animal Were You In a Past Life?

To Live in this world

you must be able
to do three things:
to love what is mortal;
to hold it

against your bones knowing
your own life depends on it;
and, when the time comes to let it go,
to let it go.

Mary Oliver "In Blackwater Woods"

Going home for the evening.

... a little bit about me.

I am a nature lover. I live a in small town where I am a stranger. New to the state., and new to this generation. I am almost 50. I take my camera with me everywhere I go, and I am known to be the strange lady standing for an hour listening to the trees! I moved to Wisconsin from Northern California, to be nearer to my family five, six? years ago. I lost both parents March 2007 and have been grieving that, and have found a renewed passion for my photography to be a great outlet. I am working with the slowest broadband, just above dial up... so my computer doesn't always cooperate with my downloading and editing needs. But I still enjoy it. I have been described as cheerful and funny. And I love my guy, who has been my partner in life, best friend, muse and big tall drink of water for nine years so far so good...!

I make it a point to try to notice and listen, and honor this special orb we call Earth.

Please don't use my photos without my permission. I would be honored if you wanted to download stuff, but please ask my permission first. That said....

I love this technology we have here at our fingertips... able to express the beauty we see, and then to drink it in... to share and let others know, this is a planet to love!

flickr has been a wonderful way for me, and others... to share love... love for lost ones, found ones, and flickr ones....
I am grateful for the love of my contacts and friends who have given so much support and positive feedback, through whatever I am going through, which has been a lot this year.
This is a photo of my Mom and Dad, back in the 70's.... I was in high school.
Mom and Dad
They were so in love.... you can see here. I am still trying to figure that out, how life can be here, so HUGE , then
gone...
just gone.
the soundtrack for this photo would be the song "Wanna Be adored", by the Stone Roses...
period.

As a youthful participant, I can still say there is time for the love I have to share... lots of time...

I believe we really are just here to find ways to love each other. Everything else is
distraction

"Let me first tell you that I am very happy to have Roxanne as a flickr friend. Even though I don't know her in real life I just know she is deep person with a big heart. She captures nature in a way that makes you feel like the picture has something to say, and that I love. Her love for nature and animals shows so well through her photographs, and it makes her phostream honest and beautiful in it's own special way.

Thanks for sharing your photograps with us."

"I've just been getting to know Roxanne over the past few weeks, but I like what I'm seeing, both in her photography, how she expresses herself and the positivity she shares with the world.

I'm looking forward to seeing more photos from her, as I believe she is both talented and has deep emotions to express artistically.

She's a really good person, and I'm proud to have gotten to know her through Flickr."
