Gary Randall's photostream
|
Living in the shadow of Mount Hood and near the Columbia River Gorge in Northern Oregon, Gary is immersed in the scenic beauty of the Pacific Northwest of the United States. He has been a photographer off and on since 1976 when he bought his first Yashica and learned to shoot and develop Tri-X.
Today Gary is a working photographer with a passion for landscape photography, but brings an artistic eye to everything he photographs.

I appreciate those that are kind enough to leave a comment on my photos. I'm also glad to see my pics favorited as this tells me that my work is enjoyed. It would be good to hear of what caught your eye about the photo to make you want to call it one of your favorites, so please leave a comment and let me know what you liked about it.
I'm here to learn and to associate with positive people that love photography. I believe in welcoming constructive criticism when it's given in good faith. What better way to learn and grow as a photographer? I encourage you to critique my work - let me know what you like and what you don't like about the image.
If you see anything that I've done that you are curious of, please ask. I'm glad to give advice if I know the answer.
My best advice is to take your camera off Auto, buy a tripod, turn some knobs and go out and take allot of pictures. : )
I am proud when I have comments on my photos without having to resort to begging for flashy pop graphics and awards. Not that there's anything wrong with it, but it's just not my bag man, dig? Cool. : )

Jeff J....... says:
"Gary Randall... Where to even start! I have been following Garys work for the last few years on Flickr and what a treat it has been. Watching Gary upload his photos of his beautiful area inspired me to take a trip out to Oregon and see it for myself.
While I was in Oregon I was very lucky and got to spend a whole day with Gary showing me through the Gorge, having dinner and a beer at a local brewery and ending the night at the almighty Trillium Lake for sunset. I had such an awesome day and Gary is such a treat to hang out with. He loves Oregon to the fullest and is such a great guy. If anyone is ever thinking about heading his direction. Hit him up beforehand. He knows Oregon and how to get around it like no other. I wish I could have spent more than one day with Gary but that is just another of the many reasons why I will be going back to Oregon sometime soon. My day with Gary will never be forgotten. I cannot wait to do it again :)
You Rock Gary!!!!

"I'm not sure I've ever come across someone with a better eye for composition than Gary.
Even when he's taking shots of something seemingly mundane, there's something incredible about the composition, a little touch that I think is so smart, and it makes me appreciate all of his work.
Gary is responsible for some of my true favourite pictures on Flickr, and is lucky enough to live a short distance from some wonderfully spectacular locations.
He's also generous with his own comments and feedback, a thoroughly good egg, and well worth having in your contacts!"29th June, 2010
