I have recently reduced my contacts to a more manageable number so that I can check my contacts photos daily and also check photos of non- contacts. However, I am continuing to review this as time permits.

I find it difficult to walk along and not picture things around me as photographs. It is such an uplifting experience to see something you love and capture it in many different ways.

I am retired and live in Torquay so take a lot of photos in Devon. My nearest beach Meadfoot is just down the road so I take a lot of photos there and have started my own group to build up a record of the lovely views.

I also have a static caravan in Looe, Cornwall so spend a large part of the summer there, allowing me to take photos around Cornwall too. Millendreath Beach is just down the road from the holiday park. I have a group for Millendreath to gather together some nice photos of this private beach.

Both Meadfoot in Torquay Devon and Millendreath in Looe Cornwall have lovely sunrises.

I took up gig rowing in Looe at the age of 59 with Looe rowing club, but only on a casual basis. I do not compete in competitions. When not in Looe I do a little rowing on Teignmouth back beach, with Teignmouth rowing club.

Apart from photography, I enjoy walking, swimming, rowing, and tennis.

Nikon D5000 DSLR only purchased July 2010, apart from the main lens Nikkor 18-55mm, I also have the following lens.
Tamron 70-300mm zoom and macro
Tamron 90mm macro f/2.8
Tamron 10-24mm wide angle

Point and shoot
Canon G10
Olympus superzoom, not used much now I have an SLR

I started the successful Flickr P&S Camera Club for NON DSLR photos to see what can be achieved with point and shoots and superzooms etc. I have found it very useful for myself to compare cameras. Now I always look at the camera type when I view photos. I do not use my compact quite as much now but it is always with me, if I do not want to carry my DSLR. I feel lost without a camera. This group has taught me a lot and the standard is extremely high. The success of the group made it necessary to involve another Admin and several moderators and I am very grateful for their help and variety of knowledge and contribution to the group.
