"this guy is pretty cool. and by "pretty cool", i mean, "crazy awesome and somewhat cool."
well, ryan is amazing at just about anything he shoots. all his urban stuff makes me wish i wasn't so lazy/shy/afraid about going around town shooting on my own.
i remember when i saw one of my first photos of his. it was in TOTW, and he won (i think?) for sitting on a couch. i don't even remember what the theme was for, but i definitely remember thinking, "yeah, this guy is pretty cool.""5th February, 2011

"Um...hi.
I am an ass.
I meant to do this like - last year. But it looks like i just wrote a testimonial for Double Dare & must have gotten tired and took a nap and then never got back to writing yours. Actually, i think i may have drempt (yeah that's how i say it) that i wrote your testi and called it good.
So, anyway - how've you been buddy? Remember like almost last year now when I racked up some points for correct guesses on your stream comment parties? Yeah - and you promised i'd be able to cash in my points and it wouldn't be something lame like a swiss army knife or a tire pump or a stupid croquet set?
Right...well I'm still waiting...
So Spike - my old pal. You are the best flickr friend a person could ask for. You take pretty sweet pics, you are always there to answer technical questions, you are pretty damn funny, and I am proud to call you my friend - (even after the high life squirrel pic.)

"There are photographers with technical skills, and there are photographers with an amazing eye for composition, and then there are artists with both. Ryan is an artist. Every shot he puts out there is something that makes me think, something that I can look at for hours and something I would be proud to display on my wall.
I am blown away by his talent every day."15th September, 2009

"Ryan is not only a kick ass photographer, but just generally a completely kick ass guy. He's got such a killer style, I'm always excited to visit his stream and see what he's doing next. His photos constantly amaze and inspire me. And so does he. He's grown from a contact into a friend, and I'm happy to have found him here on flickr. Thanks for being so awesome, Ry."

"Ryan may be a newer contact of mine, but that hasn’t kept his work from influencing me. He is truly talented with a camera and a flash, and his on-location shoots will make you want to run out the door to your nearest desolate section of town. His night photography and long-exposures are especially inspiring, and when he puts himself in the shot, you know it’s going to be something meaningful. Thanks for the inspiration, Ryan, I won’t soon be leaving your stream!"

"hmm, I thought this dude would have way more testies than this (like testimonial not testes you rude rude people!) He's been a huge inspiration to me ever since I discovered his stream. Never found too far from an abandoned sofa, he rarely lacks an interesting description, deeply thoughtful, nostalgic and often hilarious the text and photos come together each day to keep us well entertained! Not to mention the fact his awesome urban decay shots were really what gave me the kick up the arse I needed to get out there and do my own! Just. Fucking. Awesome!"

WILL★REFUSE says:
"The 1st thing I remember about Ryan was he posted a video of "Ain't no one gonna Break my stride: on someones stream. That made me extremely angry. I had that song in my head all day and almost murdered someone because of its influence. However, as I got to know Ryan more, I realized how much of a talented and nice lad he is. Simply put, Ryan is absolutely, 100% bad ass in his photographic skills. His work is so refreshing. The dude gets out there and explores and finds his photos. That is an art in itself. These days I think we as artists are too lazy and don't explore enough to get that perfect shot. Ryan does this and its an amazing thing to see his finished product."

"He has a thing for the Road even though it is not necessarily the prominent character in all of his photography, but it hangs there in the shadowy mists of lingering old towns we visit on trips still holding onto their previous lives with the memorial remnants of their own exes. He travels through the back country of the midwest wearing his snap down cowboy shirts, snapping pics of the dark crumbling with angelic glows piercing the seams of his illuminated outline. He has a vulgar sense of the sensitive like a Pahlaniuk of the visual media making Hallmark cards for the disenfranchised.

"Ryan is the shit. period.
I am in awe of him and fave his shots daily. His style is so varied but he does them all of them perfectly. His eye for detail and his quest for the shot that few others have taken is just amazing. He inspires me to be better, look harder for the shot, and process differently.
Also, he may just be the coolest, sweetest guy on Flickr. Always encouraging, he takes the time to leave valuable comments in a humorous way.
One of my Flickr wishes is to spend the day with the guy. It would go kind of like this:
9AM - Have breakfast. Little Irish coffee. Hell we are not going to work.
10AM - Drive out to a totally desolate place that just happens to have old couches and tv's waiting for us to take pictures of them.
1PM - Little liquid lunch of Guinness.
3PM - Find an old abandoned building to fuck around in and take pictures. try not to get arrested.
6PM - take pictures of the sunset
8PM - take long exposure shots of cars speeding by us.
10PM - go to a bar and close that fucker down."8th July, 2009

"Ryan's photography is amazing... well, obviously if you are looking at his profile, you are at least a little curious (as well you should be). His work tends to lean towards the desaturated look (defying the conventional flickr wisdom of oversaturate, oversaturate, oversatureate) and he ends up with some great shots... Be sure to dig deeply into this stream, you'll learn a thing or two (or more!)."

"What can I say? The man takes a mean picture through the windshield of a moving car. And the best still lifes of animal organs and found liquor bottles. Toss in some dereliction and he's a flickr favorite!"
