The last fifteen years as a singer/songwriter, comedian, poet and tree impressionist have established Rory Motion as one of the most popular and innovative performers on the national circuit. Born in 1956, the son of a simple Yorkshire sales executive, Rory has delighted both natives and foreigners alike with his deceptively laid-back style, keen intelligence and quirky wit.

Time Out have described Rory as "a post-Hippie comic"-which is how Rory describes Time Out. His act is a mix of songs, poems and patter... more patter for the comedy club, more songs for the folk festival and more poems for the literature festivals. In 2006 Rory performed the Stand comedy clubs in Glasgow and Edinburgh , the Towersey folk festival and the Cheltenham literature festival by special request of Roger McGough.... In the space of one week in 1996 Rory appeared on radios 2 and 4, did an anarchist benefit, an anthroposophical conference and was guest speaker for the Harrogate Rotarians.Rory enjoyed some success as a ballon modeller in 2004 under the guise of Bertie Bubblesqueak. His dogs, swords and sausages were greatly appreciated by his performing partner, the fabulous Beattie Bunnikins.

In his French-speaking persona Raymond Bizarre Rory enjoyed a network radio hit in France with his epic homage to Eric Cantona. A triumphant accolade for the Englishman abroad, the disc was played before international matches at the Parc de Princes on several occasions.
