I've had an interest in photography for a long time. As a teen I shot quite a few home movies with a Kodak Brownie 8mm camera, color slides with an Argus C-3 Matchmatic 35mm rangefinder, and some B/W images on an early Polaroid. These were mostly not very good, but the interest was there and I learned some basic skills.

Career obligations pushed most of my photographic activity aside, except for family and vacation snapshots made with various mediocre point-and-shoots and eventually a very nice Pentax ME Super 35mm film camera. Several years ago the Pentax broke and I shifted to compact digital P&S cams.

For the past few years I have enjoyed more free time to devote to personal interests, including photography and some traveling. In 2009 I purchased a DSLR. Since then I have re-learned basic photography techniques and developed some abilities with software for post-processing. Now I'm concentrating on refining my technical skills, taking a more thoughtful approach to subject matter and composition, and trying to produce more creative and artful images.
