I am a BT pensioner.

Please note that the primary purpose of my sets on Flickr is to relive our adventures and help our failing memories. In the second place they help to keep our family and friends aware of what we are gettting up to, as my letter writing output is close to zero. Thirdly, if a wider audience enjoy the pictures then that is great, and I do try to include links in the description of many pictures, to take you to further related material. NB: in general, Flickr only activates these links when you are on the photo page, so to be sure to see them, I suggest you use the procedure in the following paragraph.

If you can be bothered, I recommend the following procedure when viewing my pictures -
once you are on the photo page of a picture you like, click on the link to the set, which is on the right of the page, then click the 'detail' tab; click on the first picture in the set, and then work through the set by clicking the "next" and "previous" buttons, which take you through the set in order. That way you will see a fair sized view of each shot and also get my descriptions in the correct order (they often form a narrative through the set). The other reason to do things this way, is that I often add links to additional material in my descriptions, and you will only see these on the photo pages, not in the set detail thumbnails.

Those of you who are less confident with Flickr, may wish to follow this link:

rojabro's Flickr diary

to my blog on Wordpess.com, where you should find a link which takes you direct to the detail of the set you are interested in.

Please note that while I usually geotag a photo with the spot where it was taken (using Microsoft Pro Photo Tools), I occasionally keep a particular photo with a group at the spot photographed, which may be quite a long way from where it was taken. My new camera hsa built in GPS, but I am not in the habit of checking how accurate it is because I have found that the Yahoo maps themselves do not seem to be all that accurate.

"If he hasn't already, I have a feeling Jim will soon have his camera genetially attached to his iris and cornea. His flickr photos are fantastic; allowing me to enjoy a virtual holiday every week. He was also using digital cameras when they had 28k memory cards and you had to lug them around in a wheelbarrow. Keep shooting Jim."
