I am sure there are a lot of things going on within my work - particularly within my photography. As an artists who renders, I find it to be a quite interesting medium, as it dispenses with the need to render - in fact, the camera does the rendering for you. Though one must recognize that I am an artist, not a photographer - nor would I want to be.

Meant as no insult, the two are distinctly different. The photographer is dedicated and confined to mastering one particular medium sometimes but not always with the hope of expressing himself along the way. The artist, however, is in pursuit of reflection, statement and expression, from the very beginning - mastering the medium is nothing more then an exercise intended to shift your brain from left to right - from in the box to thinking creatively... Art and photography are not the same - though some photographers are in fact, not photographers but rather artists.

Is there is a message to be heard my work sometimes but not always. There are times when the message is intentional and what remains is just fragments of who I am, expressing themselves in a language vastly different from the verbal world in which we live. Its also true that, from time to time, there is an element of sexuality in my work. Who knows....

I sometimes explore women as cold, distant objects - often placing them in sexual situations and yet the associated feelings of attraction, love, friendship and intimacy are completely removed.

But is it that simple? I think the human form, particularly the female form is fascinating - unique - special. There are just so many things that can seen there - shapes - shadows - figures - ideas - and this is often what I am interested in exploring. I also find nudes to be unique, in that each person reacts differently when unclothed. Something changes, something begins to show through that one does not normally see. Maybe it is a soul, maybe insecurity, maybe sex - who knows. It is this quality that I am interested in capturing. Someone recently pointed out to me that people are still the same person clothed or unclothed and rather it is more of seeing two different sides of the same individual. I think I agree with this.

I am also just simply interested in women and their form – I think most are beautiful in quite a special way – like a flower or a sunset – there is a unique quality that we men just don’t have. There is a lot to explore there.

Live a little.. Think a little.. open your mind...
