"I can dream with his photographs, it seems to be transported to a magical world. I especially love the fact that his photos can make me explore a city and a culture totally different from mine. Thanks Kiyo!"

""With Kiyo-san photostream was LOVE at first sight!!
i absolutely love Japan and his shots show better then any book lifestyle, people, traditions, places of a culture that, for me, it's so far from any habit.
Till now i don't have the possibility to make a trip in Japan, but every time i see Kiyo's photos i say: " i MUST go there!! as soon as possible!"
Seriously, he's really talented, and he has a perfect photo setting, beyond the love for his country that he shows us in every single shot.
    One of my favorite.

"His city, Kyoto, with its cultural and religious traditions, and photography are for Kiyo a single deep and serious passion.
Kiyo is a careful and sensitive scrutineer of his country that, unlike many other cultures, has a historical tradition still alive.
Kiyo tells the corners, the landscapes, the house and the lights of Old Kyoto, the religious soul and the expressions of this religion through the delicate and precise movements of the dancers, the parades, the festivals (see "Mikoshi movies"), the sacred objects, the places and the traditional temples, the markets and the moments of daily life of citizens and merchants. Kiyo tells these places catching them in the different times of the four seasons, of the day and (often) of the night, never forgetting to instill a sense of delicate poetry.
Kiyo is a true lover of his city. Of a particular fascination are the pictures taken in the early morning, catching the first light with their still pale colors. A prime example is his photo taken at the dawn of the New Year at 6:30 am (although for more pictures he left home at 4:30 am!). Kiyo loves and respects his city, and its pictures show how his fellow citizen love taking care of it, decorating it with their characteristic ornaments and keeping tidy their streets, offered to their own pleasure and to its foreign visitors.
Kiyo's photos are moments of intimacy, he respects the confidentiality of his subjects, which often takes from behind or unnoticed.
I wish especially to emphasize a Kiyo's stylistic feature that is to transmit in his images the same silence of the places he photographs, allowing the viewer to experience the feeling you get from being right there: "The beauty of the Japanese trad - says Kiyo - is this sense of silence" and "Sense of Silence" should be the title of a book of photographs that would gather his shots.

    Filippo Baiani Photography says:

"There is not photographer in Japan with beautiful images as Kiyo, I have slowly discovered, as all good things that you appreciate in the right time.
Looking at his photos, it seems to be there, seems to breathe the air of the place.
If this is not realistic, if not this photo, I do not know what it is.
Thanks Kiyo, continues to give us masterpieces.
    PhiL."
