The Black Media Collective is an artist's media collective and independent record label formed by seven Newfoundland artists in April of 2004. BBMC is focused on producing and documenting the work of independent artists in the form of audio recordings, live performances, new media presentations and via emerging technologies. BBMC have produced hundreds of live shows, scores of audio release, film and video screenings, new media installations, demonstrations and symposia. Every year BBMC collaborate with the Independent Artists Cooperative to produce the Annual Rock Can Roll Independent Music and Media Festival. Currently they are preparing for the Chromatose Anymation Festival coming April 30th to May 3rd in St. John's
