Semi-retired, originally from South Africa (and always Proudly South African), but I now spend most of the time on the Greek island of Zakynthos, where my Greek wife Ritsa and I run Freddie's Beach Bar in the summer months. In winter, our time is split between Athens, Cape Town and London, where our two daughters live.

I have been on Flickr since March 2005, so I have a lot of content on Flickr. But despair not - every photo is in a Set, and every set is in a Collection, so have a look at those if you are interested in anything specifically. Everything is comprehensively tagged, so use the tag search also.

I really enjoy the community spirit and sharing ethos of Flickr, and try to reciprocate as far as time allows. There are other, less healthy aspects of Flickr which I don't like, so please take note of the following:

1. Any pictures which are private are such for a good reason, i.e. to be shared only among family or close friends. What you see is what you get. I do not have any "sexy" pictures to be shared with "friends', so don't ask me to "add" you. That will likely get you blocked from my stream.

2. I do not appreciate people who fave without commenting. If you like an image, take the time and give me the respect to tell me why. Similarly, if you have constructive criticism to offer, I'd like to hear it. I also hate people who use my images, or any others, in an unauthorized, or disrespectful way. Do these things too blatantly, and you will be blocked.

3. People without photos of their own to share, or those who post disrespectful comments will be blocked. I also block people who show an unhealthy interest in certain types of picture only.
