I'm a musician and keen amateur photographer from Bristol, England, UK.

Growing up in South Wales, I had easy access to a decent SLR that my Dad owned. Since I moved away, I've only owned compact digital cameras, that I always found annoying for their lack of capabilities.

I have now rectified that, having bought a Nikon D40x DSLR in September. My primary excuse/reason for splashing out on it was for my work as a Web Designer. Really, though, I've longed for a decent SLR camera again.

Having not really taken any serious photos for about 8 years, I'm pretty much starting from scratch. The first thing to do is learn to use the camera properly... At some point, I'll want to start buying more lenses, but at the moment I'm putting up with the 18-55mm lens that came as part of the kit. The others will have to wait until I have some money.

I use Aperture and Photoshop CS3 to edit/adjust photos; the latter is more for use in my work.
