I've taken up painting since I retired, and enjoy the very vibrant colors of painters such as Matisse, Vlaminck, and Joan Brown, Manuel Neri, Nathan Oliviera. I now primarily paint figurative pictures, or portraits, in acrylic, but I've also included a few landscapes. My work is at the Moraga Art Gallery in Moraga, California, (Rheem Shopping Center), open Tuesdays through Sundays 12-5 p.m., in the Allison McCrady Gallery in Orinda, sometimes at the Frank Bette Art Center in Alameda, and occasionally elsewhere.

I will be the "co-featured artist", along with Donna Arganbright (who creates exciting and useful ceramic items) at the Moraga Art Gallery located in the Rheem Shopping Center, in Moraga. The gallery is located between the Longs Drug Store (or CVS Pharmacy by then) and Loards Ice Cream. Our show will run from November 4th 2009 thru January 9th 2010.


I have added a few more pictures to this website recently. One in particular seems to have created some interest. I had taken a few snapshots of the memorial crosses on the hill above the Lafayette BART Station. Each of these crosses represents a fallen member of our armed services, killed in the current war. When I later examined the pictures, I noticed a sign in the foreground, spray painted on the street. I pasted a print of the picture on a canvas and painted the hills and street around it. I call it "Tears on the Hill." I will not sell the original, but have had photocopies made, which I have initialed and sell at the gallery for $5, my cost. But I ask that any purchaser also contribute some amount to the USO, by check payable to the USO, which I will forward to that organization.
