I'm a rank amateur, but I learn a lot each day.
Most of the photos on my stream were taken with a Canon PowerShot A520. I lost that camera, however, and now I have a Nikon Coolpix S210 for walking around. I recently acquired my first DSLR, a Sony Alpha a230 with the 18-55 mm kit lens. I also have the Big Beercan - Minolta Maxxum 75-300 mm/1:4.5-5.6 AF lens to bring subjects close. It is a beast!
I've learned a lot from flickr, and I find that my contacts are greatly supportive and inspirational. I don't always reciprocate when someone makes me a contact, due primarily to time constraints, but if you comment on my photos, I WILL visit your stream and leave comments on your shots. That's just how I roll.
