rlnv's photostream
|
We recommend looking at our collections since, while the photostream is obviously not edited, it is at least organized. Of particular note are:
- Favorites, a much heavier edit of the photostream.
- Friends and Family, photos of (and for) friends and family members.
- Birds, the results of Nick documenting the wildlife around his workplace.

Standard Gear
The various equipment combinations that we (well, mostly Nick) use. Not because this is about the gear, but because it is interesting to see how we use it. These are just those cameras which we typically use.
Nick's standard film SLR is a Nikomat FTn which he uses with the following lenses:
- Nikkor 20mm f/4 AI
- Nikon 28mm f/2.8 Series E
- Nikkor-S 50mm f/1.4
- Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 AIS
- Nikon 50mm f/1.8 Series E
- Nikkor 50mm f/2 AI
- Nikkor 105mm f/2.5 AI
- Nikkor-Q 200mm f/4
- Nikkor 200mm f/4 AIS
- Nikkor 300mm f/4.5 AI
We also use a Nikon D40x with the following lenses:
- Nikkor 20mm f/4 AI
- Nikon 28mm f/2.8 Series E
- Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 G AF-S DX
- Nikkor-S 50mm f/1.4
- Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 AIS
- Nikon 50mm f/1.8 Series E
- Nikkor 50mm f/2 AI
- Micro-Nikkor 55mm f/2.8 AF
- Nikkor 105mm f/2.5 AI
- Nikkor 105mm f/2.5 P
- Nikkor-Q 200mm f/4
- Nikkor 200mm f/4 AIS
- Nikkor 300mm f/4.5 AI
- Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G II
- Vivitar Komine 80-200mm f/4.5 MC
- Vivitar Kobori 70-210mm f/4.5 MC
Our current point and shoot is a Nikon Coolpix P3
Nick is also enjoying medium format photography with a borrowed YashicaMat 124G
And toy-camera photography using two Kodak Brownie Hawkeye Flashes. One is from 1951 and belonged to Nick's grandparents. The other is from 1953 and has been modified to shoot with a flipped lens.
Nick also picked up a Kodak Retina IIa with the coated Retina-Xenon 50mm f/2 lens from the Keeble bargain box. The old rangefinder is turning out to be decent shooter..
Fun Gear
Nick plays around with various other cameras. These aren't in the standard rotation and are either museum pieces or out on loan.
We've used the Nikon FG with the following lenses. The camera and 50/1.8E are currently being borrowed by Pablo as part of Nick's plan to leave 50mm lenses at those locations where he's likely to visit.
- Nikkor 20mm f/4 AI
- Nikon 50mm f/1.8 Series E
- Nikkor 105mm f/2.5 AI
Nick found a Kodak Retina I in the Keeble bargain box too. It's a 141 type made between 1937 and 1939 with the Kodak Anastigmat Ektar 5cm f/3.5 lens. Camera itself is a bit gummy and doesn't offer any benefit over the Retina IIa.
The Kodak Duaflex II is a pain to load film in. It does have the focusing Kodar lens and is very nice for through the viewfinder photography.
Yet another Keeble bargain box find, the Kodak Pony 135 Model C may eventually become part of the standard rotation.
