When I was a kid, I remember trying to take "professional" pictures with a compact camera that my mom bought at a garage sale down the street. How naive I was. Fortunately for me, although film and developing wasn't that expensive, I didn't have money, so I didn't make that many attempts at trying to be a pro.

Digital cameras eliminate the film factor, and make it easy for an amateur to take as many practice shots as he'd like, without worrying about cost.

I bought a compact digital in May of 2007, and in June of 2009, I bought myself my first digital SLR, a Nikon D60.

Watch me as I try to become the professional I thought I could be when I was a kid.
