I'm a genetic engineer turned computer programmer. With that technical mindset, photography is pretty much my only creative outlet. I moved to Butler, PA from Alabama when my wife and I opened The Bloomery Florist in 1998 (don't worry, I only deliver). I saw life though extremely high powered microscopes for many years, and that greatly influences my photography today.
I took up photography in my way younger days, and am much better with sports and action than with still life or posed compositions. I really like my D50, but digital has taken some of the mojo that negatives, dektol, stop and Besler enlargers had. There's nothing cooler than seeing the image fade into appearance right before your eyes.
