I have been photographing things since I was a kid (I guess that makes 30 years). Although my photos are now more technically proficient than they used to be I need to learn a lot more about actually taking good photographs :-)

These days I prefer to use a P+S digital camera because I can shoot one handed while holding a child (I have two , Sony Cybershot P71 3.2 MP and a CHDK hacked Canon A560 7.1 MPx) , but I cut my teeth on manual film SLRs (Zenit, Pentax Spotmatic and Pentax ME Super). I also have a Mamiya 6x9 medium format camera that doesn't get out very often but takes amazingly clear images. I also want to get my great grandfather's Brownie 620 running again.

My scanner has also been known to be pressed into service to make pictures.

These days my computer is an integral part of my imaging but I am attempting to get better images out of the camera.
