"hhhmmm... what IS it about Lisa's photographs that makes me such a RiotSauce fan? maybe it's her timeless landscapes... or those strraaange roadside scenes that bend the brain in a good way. perhaps it's her surreal, experimental still`lifes and self portraits... or the ones that are so sweet and pure that you just can't help but smile when you look at them. and the fact that she's not afraid to chop up a camera to modify and add her own unique twist makes me appreciate her work even more. Yeah, she's the real deal."

"Lisa is a riot (however, I have no first-hand knowledge of her sauciness :-)

I love her portraits, and her shots of her hometown. She doesn't take her herself too seriously, which makes for some outstanding photos. She's one of my favorite flickr friends because there's a great variety in what she's shooting, and a terrific give and take in her photos and and "knowing" her on flickr."

    2. Riot Sauce.

Eclectic is what comes to mind when visiting Lisa’s photostream, she is not only talented in the art of photography but also has a way of dancing a viewer across an entire spectrum of images as if they fell head first into a colorful poem.

You would see the likes of:

    Right foot, Left foot
    Sneakers
    Smile and Yummies.
    Hat and Guitar,
    Rainy Nights, Chalk
    and
    Lincoln Coins.

    Crosswalkers, Happy Couples,
    Meatball Cookies,
    Thumbs Up
    And
    Mystery Solved.

    And if that isn’t enough.

    How about
    A Hound Dog on Delaware
    Laundry,
    Lurch

    and a
    Neon Tango.

    Double-Double,

"I think that I first came across Riot Sauce in the Beginner to Intermediate Photography group. The weekly assignment was to shoot a reflection, and she posted a shot of herself painting a message on a mirror. It was right around the time of hurricane Katrina, and her picture referenced the tragedy. That was (and still is) a very compelling image to me, because in it she was really "putting herself out there", making a bold personal statement. It showed me that she was someone who was willing to take risks with her creative expression, to be open and vulnerable for the sake of her art.

She has an incredible knack for capturing the everyday in a different and interesting way. Her posts show that she is very thoughtful when it comes to building a shot. She'll also throw in the occassional image of wild randomness and present a total spur-of-the-moment capture. She's one of those people who exercises both sides of her brain when shooting, and ends up with a meaningful synthesis of aesthetic and structure.

Although she calls herself a beginner, I would consider her an amateur. Being (I suspect) around the same age and skill level, I have enjoyed watching her evolve as a photographer. I'm glad that I got to write (what I think is) her first testimonial. Her authenticity and artistic integrity are as admirable as her posts on flickr, and I very much look forward to seeing more of them."
