I started trying to make art with a camera at 16 and didn't do much else with my free time for some years. Eventually music became more a practical creative outlet because I could make more money with a guitar, so I sold all my camera gear and pretty much forgot about making pictures.

I had to buy a compact for work a few years ago and started playing with it. It was a lot of fun compared to the pro gear I used to use and I got sucked in. The quality of the little IXUS was very disappointing though, so I ended up having to get serious with gear again to get any sort of reasonable printed output.

I am still finding digital somewhat dry and lifeless compared to what I could do with film but then I dig vinyl and valve amps too so I guess that's to be expected.

Like many other flickrites, I very much appreciate your comments and faves, though I much prefer your words over those big boofy icons. Particularly the ones that flash 'n' wiggle 'n' stuff.
