I was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and now reside in Chemainus on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. In my early teens I used to borrow my Dad’s Kodak Brownie and head off in the streets of Winnipeg photographing whatever appealed to me. I was fascinated how the images were captured and processed, watching it magically appear on the paper in the darkroom/bathroom of my parents home. Today I still use those same techniques, only now it’s with a computer and specialized software.

I have an insatiable appetite for knowledge pertaining to photography. Studying the works of others, past and present, taking courses and continually reading has helped me to capture the emotions and the beauty of an image that I am looking at. Having time for travel has opened more opportunities for experiencing and photographing this great planet. Each outing is an adventure and a hunt for an image that projects both the emotions of the moment and provides an impact to the viewer.

Until a few years ago, my photos were not displayed or offered for sale. Through the encouragement of family and friends I am now sharing my images.
