"I always looking forward to Richards new pictures. From my point of view is Richard one of the BEST photographers here on flickr. I really appreciate his aircraft pictures. These are really artistic photos! I can imagine to have one of them hang on the wall in my living room! Good light to the future and only good ideas and opportunities!"

"It is rare for me to be stunned in the photography realm. I have been a photographer for 40 years (not professionally) but I have been a severe hobbyist since high-school.
I have been selling my work for years, have won awards, my work is in many stores for sale in Canada and I do have a private clientele ….. etc, etc, blah, blah, blah .
I have been involved in the art arena since I can remember as I was trained as a technical illustrator, So Art-Photography has always been a passion of mine, and even though I derive very little monies for my efforts as compared to what I need as my income, Photography none the less, is such a rewarding aspect-passion of my life and in the time that I have been addicted ( for lack of a better word) I have met many tremendous talents, and have shot with many seasoned professionals ……. but very few have blown me away as Richard Tierney’s work has, and continues to do.
There is good, fabulous, exceptional, and finally pro…the later “Pro”is how I would describe the vintage airplane shots which riveted my interest to Richards work when I came upon it by chance.
His light studies of walkways, and silhouettes on water, is astounding as well.
I have always loved airplanes, and vintage fighter planes from WWII as it has always held a fascination for me, as I loved reading about the aces in the books that I have read.
I have never seen in my life the degree of ‘Pro” as in Richard`s photography in depicting fighter planes from WWII in flight especially with such perfect background drops that allow you feel your looking at an artist canvas.
I then of course looked at the equipment Richard uses as I was astounded, because it’s not top of the line equipment……. but I couldn’t tell….which means his post work is truly incredible. It also means he knows an incredible amount of camera knowledge and his understanding of light is on the money.
What makes an artist great is if you can reconjour an image (he`s created |) that you have previously seen because it is so imbedded in your mind and becomes unforgettable because the work is so good……I’ll go further, as I would say that Richard`s work is a control point in my brain memory banks in how I gauge what the best is in what he does!
This is purely a professional assessment testimonial …as I do not really know Richard so …all the more credence to the authenticity of merit that his work declares visually.
I can’t call him a friend yet (as far as my personnal life, but he is one of my 100 contact + friends that make up "MY" friends on flickr)....but I hope to, but none the less the whole adage “an artist’s work speaks for itself” has inspired me to write this.
A true artist, and exceptional photographer, I’m just so impressed, and inspired, as I want to do WWII fighter planes now …lolololololo……I just don’t know how to go about it yet, but I know how it would have to look for me to be satisfied ….Howard"

"I have only known Richard for a very short time but I am delighted to call this incredible photographer my friend. In my opinion he is flickr’s BEST aviation photographer. No one is getting even remotely close to him in his natural aviation shooting element. We will see his work published, it is just a matter of time! He is just THAT good.

Enough said, take your time and go through his stream. You will have a hard time leaving [LOL!!!], I always have!!!
