This Flickr account is a repository of personal highlights from my short (ish) stint as a freelance illustrator from 1998 to 2006.
I began illustrating in 1998 when the nice people at Computer Arts magazine were kind enough to feature a profile of my work. My first proper commission, just before Christmas that year, was a jackpot set of two double-page spreads for the US edition of Wired Magazine.
Over the following eight years I illustrated lots of stuff for lots of people; mostly editorial work with the occasional foray into book covers, album sleeves, and advertising work. My clients included C2 Pictures (the production company behind Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), Peugeot, Swarovski, Random House, Nordstrom, Time magazine, New Scientist magazine, Wired magazine, Punish the Atom, Little White Lies magazine, Fortean Times magazine, The Apartment (a New York interior design collective) and countless publications from the Future Publishing stable.
During this time I also co-founded Pixelsurgeon.com with Jason Arber, and illustration collective Black Convoy with Jon Burgerman, Adrian Johnson, Mark Taplin and others.
In late 2006 I founded Moving Image company Wyld Stallyons with Arber and Snow Queen Animation Director Chris Sayer. Although WS is still going strong, I left in August 2008 to pursue other interests unrelated to illustration, graphic design, animation or advertising.
