Thanks for exploring my work and a special shout-out for those of you who will leave a comment; it means a great deal to me.

I live and work in the greater Washington DC area as an IT professional, but I try to get in a photo shoot on the weekends. I also have a facebook account:

www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=748457944

And a professional gallery site, for those of you who are both clients and a friend:

peterrice.zenfolio.com

The subject matter for my photographic interests span a wide spectrum, from soup to nuts as they say. From rusty things with lots of character, to flowers, people and general outdoor landscapes.

Although I've been shooting for years, I still feel like there's so much more to learn in this craft. I started out in the darkroom as a kid and got my first 35mm in my teens. I moved to digital several years ago, which really revived my interest in photography.

My inspiration and passion to grow comes from my Messianic Jewish faith combined with the superb photographic work I see here on Flickr. Leave me a comment and I'll probably look at your work for that spark of imagination and enjoyment of your photographic vision.

Though I enjoy interacting with new people I rarely add new contacts, and I don't add people who haven't been commenting on my work. So please don't be offended if I don't add you back. For me, contacts are people that want to be involved in my journey and who want my input into their work as well.

All rights are reserved on my photos. If you are interested in any of my photos, you can contact me via flickr mail.

Please do not post any of my images or publish my work in any way without my explicit written permission. Thanks.

    ` Toshio ' says:

"Peter is a great photographer and a true friend. He always has a kind word and great sense of humor that will brighten any day. Peter manages to find the amazing shots in the most unusual and unexpected places. He even managed to find a fantastic and colorful shot in an old hardware store during one of our photo shoots.

I have thoroughly enjoyed going on photo shoots with Peter and his talented family. Keep up the good work, my friend!"

"Peter hasn't been a contact for very long, but I consider him one of my favorite friends here on Flickr. He is sensitive and caring and it shows throughout his stream. He has an eye for beauty even in things most of us wouldn't find any in. Take a peek through his stream, all of it and see beauty in all things he has photographed. I'm grateful to have him as a contact and friend :)"

"I have been using flickr since May 2007 and Peter has been a contact of mine for nearly all that time. He was one of my first contacts. During that time I have come to know his work well. Peter loves to experiment. You will see by looking through his photo stream that his work is really quite varied to the point of being eclectic. I like that because it is just how I am too. It is only by experimenting with new situations and techniques that we can learn and improve. Peter has a good eye and sees amazing detail that others might overlook. In my opinion this is the most important quality of any photographer. All other photographic skills can be learned from a book but learning to 'see' has to come by itself.

Keep up the good work, Pete, you help to make flickr a great place to be.

One other thing I would just like to add, Peter is always very generous in his praise and for that I would like to give him a special 'Thank you'. Pete, you really are a great contact to have. :-)"
