I started photography proper when I was 13 years old with a film Pentax camera, but never really explored my interest fully until the past few years. I've moved to a manual film Nikon FM2 camera, and dabbled in digital photography with the help of a loaned D70 and various loaned lenses from friends, but still loves the feeling of working with film and manual focusing. The portfolio shots on this Flickr is a combination of both the digital photos and the film-based photos I've taken over the years, the latter having been scanned by a dedicated film scanner I co-own with a friend.

As for crafting, I learnt how to handsew and later on, machine sew through my cosplay hobby when I was 16. From then on, it's been an interesting journey sewing my own cosplay costumes, and then moving into hand sewing kimonos and yukatas, and then into commissions and finally into zakka, which is kind of like the japanese aesthetic in small accessories and home-making produce. My love for the japanese culture extends into zakka, and designing and making little bags, hats and accessories is a joy for my everyday life. Joining Etsy and Flickr only allowed me to see what other people are capable of doing, and got me interested in knitting, crocheting, felting, embroidery, patchwork and other crafts that I would not have explored if I had stuck to costume making. Every craft day is an exploration for me now~ ^_^

I share an Etsy store with a few of my friends selling homemade zakka inspired bags, hats and accessories. Please do go check it out if you like any of the photos of the products I put up~ ^_^ prettycloth.etsy.com
