Here at The Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) we welcome all those with an enthusiasm for geography, travel and exploration as well as professional geographers and students.

Photography plays a big part in our work and our picture library has over ½ million photographs which document the beautiful and diverse people, places and environments across the world – both contemporary and from the past.

Since our foundation in 1830 we have been one of the most active learned societies in the world. Currently we support and promote travel events, research, education, fieldwork and expeditions, and geography in society as well as advising on policy issues.
