Ever since my mother loaned me her camera, which she received in the 1930's, I have had an interest in photography. For high school art, I enrolled in the required photography class for a year and was soon developing prints in my basement darkroom. But 3 decades later, with all the distractions and business of life, I've never devoted the time, money and training to elevate photography as a major hobby of mine. I don't have many original photos, nor recent, as I lost my camera. But I have kept a couple 100 photos of ancestors prior to and after the turn of last century.
But it is a privilege to observe the creativity and skill in so many works of art; here; I am humbled by all the excellent photographers. Your works have made Flickr my favorite site.
I just turned 50 this year (but so did my older twin sister); I have 3 children (& a son-in-law as of May 16, 2008)--2 girls in their 20s and a son just turning 16...help! We've lead a gypsy life, from a time in the Rocky Mts. of B.C. to northern Ontario, the Toronto region, and near the country's capital of Ottawa. I am separated now after 24 years of marriage.
