"Since moving away from Melbourne over a year ago I have searched for the right way to keep in touch with the city. I tried online newspapers and downloaded local podcasts but ultimately nothing worked until I came across Reinar’s picture of the 7-11 on the corner of Smith and Brunswick Street. Such a wrong ‘photograph’ but so right. Looking at that picture I instantly remembered when I lived down the road and frequently dropped by for late night ice creams and early morning papers. His subjects range from JB-HiFi and Meyers Place in the city to BMX’ing in Caroline Springs. Taken altogether, his pictures and perceptive writing allow me to keep in touch with a Melbourne that I remember."
