I run a small kennel of dryland sled dogs in the foothills of North Carolina. My dream and passion is to do mid-distance dryland with my team and compete and start such races. I eventually want a larger peice of land closer to the National Forest (currently 20 mins SE from it) and will continue to build my kennel there in the future.
I recently obtained my GED and then hope to pursue a career in forestry or veterinary medicene sometime in the next two years.

I work hard for what little I have and love being a true southerner and respect our culture. I have a wonderful bond with my mother and my boyfriend and they and the dogs are everything to me. I'm pretty much just a dog nerd and can turn the most basic conversation into an indepth story about making dog booties or selectively picking out puppies. Although we have cruel summers.. being a southern musher is more than just a dirt and wheels.. we have excellent winters and tons of trails, and best of all, it's in my heart land- the south. We tackle and deal with things snow mushers never dream of, and that is part of why it is such a wonderful sport.

I enjoy photography and the outdoors in general. There's no feeling like a high from the peak of a mountain, or the smell of a river in the summer. I can go outside and sit for hours taking pictures and feeling whole to be with nature. Give me my team, a good camera, cold weather and good friends and I would never ask for more.
