My World Visitor Map!

I like to mix things up, show a real variety of subjects & shots. Not the same old thing time after time. I like to post to alot of groups to get the most exposure to let my shots be seen by a wide audience, so you won't see any of my shots in Explore any more with flickrs current rules. Primarily you'll see some of my photographs here, not alot of computer generated art, or heavily edited computer generated images that used to be photographs, Those can be nice, but they sort of cease to be real photographs at some point. If I futz with them other than basic cropping & balance, I'll let you know. HDR is an example. I primarily use Digital. A Canon A-70 was used for some older shots, because of it's size I was able to take it everywhere. It' was in my camera bag along with my other stuff, but recently got stolen, so I've replaced it with a Canon A560. Some even older shots are with an HP-215, archaic but functional. Some are taken with film & scanned, using various Canon Sure Shots, (my WP-1 is awesome for what it is) or my Canon Elph Sport. The small size makes them easy to be with me everywhere, and in the case of the Elph, underwater! I currently use a Canon EOS XTi (400D) and a Canon Digital Rebel (300D). I use a variety of lenses, (Canon 18-55mm, 75-300mm, 50mm f1.8, a Sigma 50mm EX DG macro, a Sigma 10-20mm wide angle, and my most recent addition a Sigma 18-200 DC OS, which replaced my Sigma 18-200DC. It spends most of its time attached to the 400D. I use three Tiffen extension rings for some macros on the 18-55 and the 50mm Canon. I guess I like Canon. For a tripod I use a Manfrotto 190CL, with a Manfrotto 486RC2 head. I also use a Manfrotto 680 monopod on occasion with a Manfrotto 484RC2 head. I hope you like what I offer.

"Redman's photostream is an ever changing flow of glimpses of reality. A lot of his pictures start me thinking because he's showing new aspects every time.
You will find something new and fresh -- everytime you look at the stream or one of his pictures -- a master at capturing moments in time."17th June, 2008

"I was introduced to Ian's fine work after he graciously commented on one of my pics. I was simply amazed by his images. I especially enjoy his personal favorites, or as he refers to them " Pictures I've taken that keep me taking photos". I would be proud to hang each and every one one my walls.
Ian Fraser, Artist, photographer, gentleman."8th November, 2007

"A great artist, I love his compositions and all about his fine technic. The diversity of subjects of his creation let us learn too much about the versatility of a very talented photographer. Many of us coud be experts working about some topic, Ian is an expert about every topic."

"Ian introduced me to Flickr... We share a great name and a love of photography. I am constantly amazed at the images Ian produces and the diversity of topics covered. His work has been an inspiration to me and I only hope that I can one day produce images half as good as those produced by Ian."

"ian was one of my very first contacts here in flickrland; i think i found him in explore, and rightly so. his work is, in a word, inspirational. he has an infectious appreciation for color and composition; he's also a consummate professional. but it's his keen, keen eye (the same one in his icon, haha) that keeps me coming back.
there is much to learn from him. take note."25th October, 2006

Jeff Clow says:
"One of the great things about the Flickr community is running across a photo artist like Ian....once I saw some of his fine work here, I was hooked on his photostream. His ability to compose a world-class photo image is superb, and his photo "eye" is one of the best around....
And on top of that fine skill, he is also an outstanding gentleman who takes a significant amount of time to view and comment on other's work here....
I consider Ian to be one of the reasons that Flickr is such a great community...and he exemplifies what the word "involvement" really means....
A class act all the way...and a real asset to the Flickr community...."29th June, 2005

Road Blog says:
"Ian has some of the most interetsing photographs I have seen on flickr - most of them have an unusual perspective - like the ones in urban fabric - or rust... he has an eye for the small details that make life interesting..."

"Here is a photographer with an insatiable hunger for new images. He produces pictures that are never mundane and he finds interest in the everyday. His strong compositional skill and refusal to over-edit his results are an example for everyone who weilds a lens."

"Ian brings to Flickr his discriminating eye and outstanding sense of color, design and perspective, no matter what his subject matter, and diverse it is: from portraits to scenery to black scrolled ironwork on a red wood door, to drops of water. Every one of his photos is a joy to behold."

"With no formal training in either the arts or photography, Redmann has a naturally good eye and is very picky about what he posts: only his very best photos will do. His shots are varied and interesting and he never ceases to surprise me with his innovation.
His work is testimony to the fact that the more pictures you take, the better you get."14th May, 2005
