Richard D. Schoenberg has been a photographer for 30 years. Originally from the New York City area, he worked for several entertainment newspapers. During that period he compiled a portfolio of rock photos that were published in 2002. The book titled, "Seventy Nine - Eighty" documents some of the early performances of the B-52's, John Mellencamp and The Pretenders.

Having relocated to Los Angeles, he attended the American Film Institute as a cinematography fellow. For six years he pursued a career as a Director of Photography, working on television commercials, music vi deos and several feature-length films.

Having spent two and half years working on, "The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday", a 288 page book about the training of the US Navy SEALs, it was published in December, 2004, with a 2nd edition published in 2006.

In 2007, his book “The Warrior Class – Making Marines”, was published and was followed in 2008 by his book “Boot Camp”.
