I am so blessed...as a wife, daughter, sister to five, aunt to many, friend to even more and a teacher of hundreds! I'm currently a reading specialist in a local primary school - helping first and second graders to be more successful as readers. That and a dream to retire to the western part of the US in about 11 or 12 years keeps me going! Love to travel, take photos, and hike with my husband and my big, furry dog. Update...we lost Angus to old age and medical conditions in October, but have just brought home a Golden Retriever pup, named Finley. He'll be our Valentine's present to remember for a very long time, thanks to my flickr contact Maria!
When viewing images on Flickr.....I agree with one of my contacts : If you notice the frame before you notice the subject of the photo, the frame was probably a mistake. If you notice the watermark before you notice the subject of the photo, congrats - your big honking watermark or signature has ruined a perfectly good photo.
Update 7.8.08 - Mark and I just returned home from the vacation of a lifetime - rafting the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon for six days! Check out the photostream for pics of our adventure!
4.20.09 - another trip, this time back to our beloved New Mexico. A very special trip because we were able to meet several of our Flickr contacts. Fun trip despite rain, sleet and snow...it just made for better photos!
8.15.09 - another update as I've just returned home from a visit back to the site of Woodstock...40 years later. Saw Richie Havens in a fantastic concert, and took my hubby with me this time! Life IS good!!
1.1.11 - and another update - we've welcomed a little rescue dog into our home. Lexi, a retriever/aussie (Border collie?) mix was found on the streets of Memphis - and will now have to adjust to life in the woods. We'll keep you posted!
