Engineer, Geek, Magician, Jack of all trades.
Since I've been asked twice now, I'll put this statement here to clarify my intent for all of my photographs marked with a Creative Commons license. The majority of my photos are available under the terms of the Attribution 2.0 license. "Original image by Ross Berteig" or words to that effect would be an appropriate attribution to comply with the terms of that license, or any other that requires attribution for use in a derivative work.
Although not required by the license, I certainly do appreciate knowing where a photo of mine has found a home!

tychay says:
"I won’t hold the horrible excuse for a school that RBerteig went to against him. Surprisingly, he survived “the Institute” and seems to make sane comments. Unfortunately, he’s almost always saying something that is correct, useful and perceptive.
I say “unfortunately” because it makes unmasks my insane, opinionated, useless and abusive tirades for what they are (insane, opinionated, useless and abusive). :-D"29th December, 2006

Clifford the Red says:
"Ross's knowledge of the inner workings of cameras and lenses is downright scary. Aside from his scientific prowess, he has a great willingness to try unusual things in his photography for the "x-factor". His photography reflects the risk, joy and humor that he brings to life. He is a great contributor to the Flickr community and has evangelized more than his share of converts to the fold. And as an activist, he is a rare advocate for the growing population of persecuted and abused fire hydrants. How he survived this long without a testimonial is beyond me, so here is mine. Now bring me a shrubbery."
