Founded in 2001, rare is a stunning 913-acre (and growing) nature reserve located in the middle of one of th fastest-growing urban landscapes in Southern Ontario, in the heart of Waterloo and Wellington Regions.

A registered charity created to protect the land in perpetuity, our aim is to preserve this natural landscape through stewardship, research and education and to provide a way for the community and the world to reconnect with nature.

We are committed to protecting the quality of life for all of us today and for generations to come.
